1
What are altered states of consciousness?
Altered states of consciousness (ASC) are mental states that differ from ordinary waking consciousness. These states can be induced through various methods such as meditation, breathwork, psychedelic substances, sound therapy, or sensory deprivation. In these states, individuals may experience deep insights, emotional breakthroughs, or spiritual awakenings that can aid personal growth and healing.
2
How do you ensure safety during sessions?
Safety is our top priority. We have a rigorous vetting process that includes an initial consultation to assess each individual’s mental, emotional, and physical health. We carefully screen for contraindications, such as medical conditions or psychological vulnerabilities, to ensure the experience is safe and appropriate for each person. Our facilitators are trained in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and ethical guidelines to support you throughout the entire process.*
3
What is the vetting process like?
Before any session, we conduct a comprehensive intake process that includes:

-
Consultation: We discuss your goals, medical history, and any concerns you may have.
-
Health Screening: We assess your physical and mental health to ensure that altered states are a safe option for you.
-
Informed Consent: We make sure you fully understand the potential benefits and risks, and you must sign a consent form before proceeding. This process helps us tailor the experience to your needs and ensures that it aligns with your well-being.
4
How do you prepare clients for altered states sessions?
Preparation is essential for a meaningful and safe experience. Our preparation sessions include:

-
Mindset Setting: We guide you in establishing clear intentions and goals for your journey.
-
Education: We provide information on the nature of the altered state you will experience, what to expect, and how to navigate it.
-
Practical Guidelines: We offer advice on how to prepare physically and emotionally, such as diet requirements, mindfulness practices, and setting up a conducive environment. Our facilitators ensure you are mentally and emotionally ready before each session.
5
What happens during an altered state session?
During the session, you will be guided in a safe and supportive environment by an experienced facilitator. Sessions may vary depending on the type of altered state, but generally include:

-
Guidance: Your facilitator will provide gentle guidance while allowing the experience to unfold naturally.
-
Safe Space: We create a non-judgmental, comforting space where you can explore your consciousness.
-
Support: Our role is to support your emotional and physical needs, help you navigate challenging moments if they occur, and ensure your safety. We aim to empower you to become your own healer by encouraging self-awareness and reflection throughout the experience.
6
What is the role of the facilitator during the session?
The facilitator’s role is to "hold space" for your journey, ensuring safety and providing support when needed. They will:

-
Help you stay grounded and centered.
-
Assist with any emotional or physical discomfort.
-
Offer gentle guidance without directing or controlling the experience.
-
Be present for any needs, from helping with breathwork to creating a calming environment. The focus is on empowering you to explore your own inner landscape with minimal intervention, allowing for deep personal insights.
7
What is integration and why is it important?
Integration is the process of making sense of and incorporating the insights gained during your altered state experience into your daily life. Without proper integration, the experience may feel fragmented or incomplete. During our integration sessions:

-
Reflection: We help you process and reflect on your journey.
-
Actionable Insights: We work with you to identify how to apply the lessons learned in practical ways.
-
Ongoing Support: We provide tools like journaling, meditation, or continued therapy to ensure long-term positive impact. Integration is key to turning an altered state experience into lasting personal growth.
8
Can I do this on my own, or is a guide necessary?
While some individuals may explore altered states on their own, working with an experienced guide can significantly enhance safety, depth of insight, emotional support and sustained benefits. A guide helps:

-
Facilitate preparation and integration.
-
Manage challenging moments or crises.
-
Create a safe, supportive environment. We focus on helping you become your own healer, and a guide is there to assist you on that path, especially if you’re new to altered states or looking for deeper transformation.
9
Do you use psychedelic substances?
Our services are tailored to multiple modalities of inducing altered states, including breathwork, meditation, sound healing, and more. For clients interested in psychedelic substances, we provide education, preparation, and integration support. We follow all legal regulations and do not provide illegal substances. If you're working with a psychedelic substance in a legal context, we can support your preparation and integration before and after the experience.
10
Who is not a good candidate for altered state experiences?
While altered states can be beneficial for many, they are not suitable for everyone. Individuals with the following conditions may need to avoid or approach altered state work with caution:

-
Severe mental health disorders (e.g., schizophrenia, bipolar disorder)
-
Certain physical health conditions (e.g., heart conditions)
-
Those taking medications that interact negatively with certain substances or experiences. Our vetting process helps determine if altered states work is safe and appropriate for you.
