A Note from the Founder

As an anthropologist with a passion for exploring altered states of consciousness and their potential for healing and transformation, my journey began with studying plant wisdom and ancestral traditions among indigenous tribes in Peru, which inspired me to contribute to psychedelic research with the MIND Foundation and collaborate with medical doctors to facilitate safe, transformative retreats in the Netherlands. As a certified practitioner through the Synthesis Institute, I bring a professional and ethical approach to guiding others on their journeys. PsyGuide reflects my vision of combining traditional wisdom with modern science to create accessible, safe, and meaningful experiences for those seeking growth, healing, and deeper connection.

Mission and Vison

What is the ultimate goal of PsyGuide? To attract the right clients. But I am committed to doing so by sharing valuable, meaningful insights—not noise.

This field, focused on connecting individuals with verified professionals in altered states of consciousness, is complex and transformative. There’s so much knowledge tucked away in private conversations, unspoken learnings, and personal reflections. PsyGuide was born to bring this wealth of expertise into the light—safely and responsibly.

Challenges in the Field

Verification: It's not enough to be passionate about guiding others through altered states. Professionals must have the experience, knowledge, and capacity to truly hold space for their clients. Verifying guides’ expertise and ensuring their methodologies align with best practices has been one of my biggest priorities.

Safety First: Creating safe, informed, and supportive environments is essential for anyone embarking on these journeys. Building a network of guides who understand the nuances of this work is a responsibility we take seriously.

Trust and Transparency: We’re navigating a field often surrounded by stigma or misinformation. Establishing trust between guides and seekers requires openness about motivations, qualifications, and approaches.

Crafting a Differentiated Point of View

One of the hurdles I faced early on was clarifying my voice in this space. What makes our mission unique? What do we stand for? Much like the guides I work with, I had to navigate my own imposter syndrome.

To refine my point of view, I leaned into conversation—sometimes with collaborators, but often with AI tools like ChatGPT. By introducing different “versions” of myself into the discussion (creative vs. analytical thinking), I mimicked the dynamic of workshopping ideas with a team. This process helped me identify core themes for PsyGuide’s voice:

The importance of connection—helping people find the right guide for their journey.

A focus on safety—ensuring the guides in our network meet rigorous standards.

A belief in transformation—supporting seekers in accessing personal growth, creativity, and problem-solving through these altered states.

If you’re interested in how altered states can unlock creativity or problem-solving—or how we’re shaping a platform to connect people with the right guides—let’s chat. PsyGuide’s mission is to facilitate safe and informed experiences, and we’d love to share our vision with anyone equally passionate about this work.

Here’s to seeking of growth, authenticity, and transformation—together.
